First sub-level command bunker excavated beneath what will become Crownpoint Federal Tower. The Crale family — old money, East Coast — is present at the founding, part of the institutional architecture from the beginning. Their influence is quiet, unacknowledged, and will erode over the following generations.
1940 — The Paragon Force Enters History [CONFIRMED CANON] A.E.G.I.S. documents “The Mantle” — a cosmic energy bonding to a single host, granting extraordinary ability. First confirmed Paragon fights with Allied forces, classified as “Asset CROWN.”
1947 — The Renegade Force — First Recorded Manifestation [CONFIRMED CANON] Soviet-adjacent operative exhibiting abilities that mirror and counter Asset CROWN. A.E.G.I.S. begins modeling the two forces as paired cosmic principles. Containment fails. File remains open for decades.
1953 — Operation MANIFEST [CONFIRMED CANON] Black-site super-soldier enhancement program authorized. Objective: produce a state asset capable of neutralizing a rogue Paragon-class individual. Natalia Orlov is an eventual product of this program.
1958 — Halden City’s First Public Superhuman Incident [CONFIRMED CANON] Cargo ship explosion at Blackwater Harbor. Eyewitnesses describe a figure walking through fire. A.E.G.I.S. clears the scene in four hours. City government issues no official statement. The dockworkers’ union begins keeping its own records.
ERA II: THE PUBLIC AGE BEGINS (1960–1984)
1963 — Paragon Goes Public [CONFIRMED CANON] A.E.G.I.S. authorizes Asset CROWN to operate semi-publicly as “Paragon.” Public reception is fraught. Demonstrations for and against in Monument Circle.
1968 — The Glass District Is Established [CONFIRMED CANON] Defense contractors and academic institutions, quietly underwritten by A.E.G.I.S. Stated purpose: medical and materials research. Actual mandate: enhanced individual study, artifact analysis, power-source exploitation. Ethical breaches begin almost immediately.
1971 — Paragon Intervenes in a Foreign Election [CONFIRMED CANON] Dr. Gabriel Virek, a young academic, encounters a declassified summary. Document is re-classified; his access revoked. First entry in what will become the Virek Papers.
1979 — Calypso Makes Contact [CONFIRMED CANON] Calypso awakens after centuries of isolation and makes first contact with the previous Paragon during a maritime crisis in the North Atlantic. They reach an uneasy accord. A.E.G.I.S. creates a new file classification for an immortal mythological entity.
1982 — The Virek Papers Compilation Begins [CONFIRMED CANON] Dr. Gabriel Virek, now a senior UN policy adviser and A.E.G.I.S. consultant, begins systematically assembling classified evidence of Paragon’s extralegal interventions. He begins hearing “a frequency.” The Renegade Force has taken notice.
ERA III: CRISIS & CONSEQUENCE (1985–1999)
1987 — The Ironworks Collapse [CONFIRMED CANON] Deindustrialization guts the Ironworks. Factories close, shipyards contract. Organized crime — primarily the Persico family — fills the vacuum. Street-level enhanced individual activity increases sharply.
1999 — The West Coast Broadcast: Fall of Two Forces [CONFIRMED CANON] Nemesis engineers a globally televised confrontation with the previous Paragon. Broadcasts fragments of the Virek Papers live. The fight destroys a section of the Pacific coastline. Both combatants die. The Paragon Force goes dormant. The Renegade Force dissipates.
Riley Thomas is 9 years old when he watches from a Riverside Ward living room. Ethan Roberts is 18. He enlists in the Air Force the following year.
ERA IV: THE NEW GENERATION (2000–2015)
2005 — Ethan Roberts Becomes the New Paragon (age 24) [CONFIRMED CANON] Air Force pilot Roberts is scrambled during a residual energy crisis. The dormant Paragon Force bonds to him mid-air. He survives a crash that should have killed him. Establishes early contact with A.E.G.I.S. while making clear he will not operate under direct command.
2006 — Recluse: Riley Thomas Manifests and the Vega Incident (age 16) [CONFIRMED CANON] Riley exhibits spider-like abilities and a one-second precognitive flash. Overwhelmed and still learning, he pulls a fire alarm during a Riverside Ward robbery. The thief panics and fires. Sandra Vega is killed. Her two-year-old son Adrian is found unharmed. Riley goes underground. He will visit Sandra’s grave every year for the rest of his life.
2006 — The Quantum Accident (Dr. Javier Mendez, age 36) [CONFIRMED CANON] Glass District physicist attempts to experimentally harness quantum probability. Experiment succeeds catastrophically. Particles scatter across multiple quantum states. A.E.G.I.S. spends months engineering a containment suit.
2007 — Riftfire: Lena Marquez Manifests (age 15) [CONFIRMED CANON] Teenager Lena “borrows” a friend’s parents’ car and loses control. Before the crash, she is standing on the shoulder of the road unharmed. She spends years quietly training the ability.
2008 — Casimir Vane Founds Vane Capital Group [CONFIRMED CANON] Self-made entrepreneur from the Ironworks consolidates a near-monopoly on Crownpoint construction contracts. Growth is unusually fast — backed by Eclipse, though this is not publicly known. Vane is an early investing partner in Eclipse’s PROMETHEUS program and a knowing ideological participant.
2009 — Starfall: Kiara Je-rach Arrives and Defects [CONFIRMED CANON] Cosmic envoy arrives in low orbit with an audit determination that Earth should be removed from the cosmic record. Paragon intercepts her and, instead of force, asks her what she believes. She defects. Marked “defective” by the Auditors. Takes residence in Alliance Tower.

Initial interventions: empowering unstable individuals, introducing experimental biological agents, engineering stress-test scenarios. A passive observer taking notes — not an active antagonist.
2015 — The Alliance Is Formally Established [CONFIRMED CANON] Paragon brokers coalition: himself, Recluse, Riftfire, Quantum, Starfall, The Vanguard. Tenuous knowledge-sharing framework established with A.E.G.I.S.: cooperation without subordination. Same year: Joseph Persico convicted and imprisoned. Calypso attends the first public address, watches from the harbor, leaves without speaking.
ERA V: THE PRESENT STORM (2016–2025)
2019 — Burnout: Daniel Rojas Transformed (age 26) [CONFIRMED CANON] Sanitation engineer pushed into an active furnace during a labor dispute. He does not die. He fuses with the fire. Burnout’s targets are exclusively those he classifies as “industrial waste.”
2020 — Aegis Prime: The Glass District Containment Disaster [CONFIRMED CANON] Experimental gravity core undergoes catastrophic collapse. Marine officer Darius Cole is caught within the event radius. A.E.G.I.S. stabilizes the anomaly inside him and constructs Aegis Prime around the result. Possible Eclipse connection flagged, unconfirmed.
2021 — Circuit Breaker: Ava Kincaid Transformed [CONFIRMED CANON] Working two jobs and skimming ATMs, Ava strikes an experimental Glass District test unit in Riverside Ward. Electrokinetic ability bonds to her nervous system across three city blocks.
2022 — Wave of Manifestations [CONFIRMED CANON] Morgan Vale (Nightfall), Owen Watson (Red Pill), Danielle Whittaker (Wraith), Allison Bryne (Carrion). A.E.G.I.S. MANIFEST logs the cluster as anomalous.
2022 — The Glass District Electromagnetic Incident: Apollo and Artemis [CONFIRMED CANON] A Glass District research facility conducts a high-density electromagnetic test at frequencies far beyond safe parameters. The explosion catches two teenagers — Jason James and Mary Matthews — still in contact with each other when the shockwave hits. Both survive. Both manifest powers: Jason with photokinesis (light manipulation), Mary with shadow manipulation. A.E.G.I.S. files them separately; the paired origin goes unrecognized as significant. Unknown to any human institution, the extreme electromagnetic environment was sufficient for the Wavelengths — ancient interdimensional beings that exist as pure EM energy at the extremes of the light spectrum — to simultaneously bond to two hosts. 2022 — The Virek Papers Cache Surfaces [CONFIRMED CANON] Anonymous tip leads a journalist to a partially decrypted data cache in Blackwater Harbor. Confirms Paragon’s 1971 election intervention and two others. Publication delayed by legal injunction.
2023 — Breakpoint: Adrian Vega Trained and Active (age 19) [CONFIRMED CANON] Adrian confronts Riley Thomas — not with rage but clarity. Riley agrees to train him. They become the Alliance network’s most tactically precise partnership.
2023 — Requiem: Marcus Webb Killed and Resurrected [CONFIRMED CANON] Marcus Webb — Ironworks-origin, spider-derived powers, trained by Recluse — is killed publicly by Perdition. Riley Thomas authorizes an experimental resurrection procedure through Dr. Selin Adeyemi, an independent Glass District researcher he had previously rescued from a Persico operation. The procedure is conducted entirely off A.E.G.I.S. books. Marcus is brought back. Adeyemi disappears shortly after — Eclipse identified the unauthorized use of research adjacent to PROMETHEUS and sent someone. Riley does not know what happened to her.
2023 — Shroud: Declan Harrow Established (age 27) [CONFIRMED CANON] Has spent years hunting the things A.E.G.I.S. has no language for. Established presence along Blackwater Harbor. Never claimed to be a hero. A.E.G.I.S. file heavily redacted and quietly misfiled. This is not an accident.
