Founding
In 2015, Ethan Roberts (Paragon) brokered a coalition between himself, Recluse, Riftfire, Quantum, Starfall, and Natalia Orlov (The Vanguard — freshly defected from A.E.G.I.S.’s covert program). A tenuous knowledge-sharing framework was established with A.E.G.I.S. Regional Command: cooperation without subordination.
The same year, Joseph Persico — the Ironworks’ most powerful crime boss — was convicted and imprisoned. The Alliance’s founding year was also a significant street-level win.
Calypso attended the Alliance’s first public address uninvited. She watched from the harbor and left without speaking to anyone.
Core Members
| Name | Hero Name | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Ethan Roberts | Paragon | Founder. Paragon Force host. Reluctant symbol. |
| Riley Thomas | Recluse | Street-level. Spider-derived powers. Deeply private. |
| Elena Marquez | Riftfire | Kinetic energy manipulation. High school physics teacher by day. |
| Dr. Javier Mendez | Quantum | Quantum physicist, scattered across quantum states, containment suit. |
| Kiara Je-rach | Starfall | Cosmic envoy, defected from the Auditors. Energy projection, near-invulnerability. |
| Natalia Orlov | The Vanguard | Former black-ops enhanced asset. Defected after concluding institutions corrupt themselves. |
Extended Network / Affiliates
| Name | Hero Name | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Adrian Vega | Breakpoint | Recluse’s mentee. Hyper-cognitive stress response. |
| Sloane Callahan | Arachne | Intel/support. Weaver drones, perfect memory, hacking. Riley recruited her. |
| Darius Cole | Aegis Prime | A.E.G.I.S.-adjacent, ideological tension with most core members. Liaison quarters in Alliance Tower. |
| Darcy Cole | Rampart | PE teacher and track coach, Riverside Ward. Kinetic absorption and redistribution. Unregistered. Riley recruited her. |
| Marcus Webb | Requiem | Ironworks origin. Spider-derived powers. Killed publicly by Perdition; resurrected via Riley’s off-books call. |
| Zara Thorne | Filament | Retired hero. Genetically entangled with Riley’s spider gene. Assists network on her own terms. |
| Declan Harrow | Shroud | Hunts the older things in Halden City’s infrastructure. Blackwater Harbor. Never claimed to be a hero. |
Culture & Feel
The Alliance is relational where A.E.G.I.S. is institutional. It is held together by shared values, history, and trust rather than org charts and oversight. Members tend to be more independent, more self-directed, and more comfortable operating without a net.
It operates as a chosen family — but chosen family means real weight when someone leaves or changes. Riley’s transition to A.E.G.I.S. sponsorship changed something. He still uses the word “family.” It’s a marker of what that time meant and still means to him.
Relationship with A.E.G.I.S.
Cooperative without being subordinate. The knowledge-sharing framework is real but limited. A.E.G.I.S. watches the Alliance closely and is not fully comfortable with its independence. Aegis Prime’s presence as an ideological A.E.G.I.S. proxy within the team is a source of ongoing friction.
Open Questions
- What does Alliance Tower look like / where is it located?
- How does the Alliance handle internal disagreements — is there a formal process or is it entirely personal?
- What is the full nature of the Paragon / Recluse dynamic — admiration, friction, both?
- Are there active tensions within the team right now beyond Cole’s ideology?
