Powers

  • Matter phasing — passes through solid objects
  • Gliding — sustained aerial movement; not true flight
  • Invisibility — vanishes from sight at will

She exists in two states simultaneously — somewhere between the living and the dead. The solar flare killed her briefly. What came back is not entirely what left.

Background

Daughter of two Singularity researchers developing theoretical technology to prove the existence of the human soul. The equipment wasn’t ready. Dani was visiting after school when a solar flare hit Halden City — the surge interacted catastrophically with the modified MRI her parents were building. For a moment, she died.

She woke up different.

Her use of those abilities since has been pointed: she uses them to spy on Glass District research projects and anonymously leak evidence of unethical experiments to the public. She has been responsible for at least three major document leaks as of 2025. She has not been identified.

A.E.G.I.S. has a file. They consider her moderate-threat, independent, and hostile to agency interests — an accurate read.

Character Profile

She is nineteen and already knows things most adults spend careers avoiding. What that does to a person — what it does to her specifically — is the interesting question.

She is not a chaos agent. She is deliberate. The leaks are targeted. She is trying to accomplish something specific, even if she’s the only one who fully understands what.

She is also deeply private. She did not ask for allies. She has not decided she needs them.

Introduction to the Players — The PROMETHEUS Facility

Dani does not come to the Hall. The Hall comes to her — or rather, they arrive at the same place for different reasons.

The meeting point: The PROMETHEUS black site (Beat 6). The players are there because the Eclipse thread from the press room led them here. Dani is there because her Glass District leak campaign has been tracking Eclipse-adjacent research for months. She got there first. She is already inside, invisible, when the players enter.

How the introduction happens: The players notice something is wrong — a door that shouldn’t be open, a construct that’s already been disabled, evidence that someone else has been here recently. Then Dani makes a choice: she lets herself be seen. She phases back into visibility somewhere in the facility, unhurried, watching them like she’s deciding whether they’re a problem.

She’s not hostile. She’s assessing. The players are either useful or in her way. She hasn’t decided yet.

What she knows that they don’t: She has been inside Eclipse infrastructure before this. She has context for what the PROMETHEUS program is building and who it’s building it for. She won’t hand this over immediately — but if the players handle themselves well in the facility, she will share enough to point them toward the Gala and Casimir Vane.

What she wants from the players: Nothing, initially. She was doing fine alone. But Signal’s public campaign is making her work harder — every leak she drops is getting buried under the noise of his reveals. She is starting to think that working adjacent to a visible team might be more effective than working alone, even if she would not use those words.

Her relationship to the Hall: She does not move in. She is not a team member. But after the PROMETHEUS facility, the players know she exists, and Sloane — who has been trying to identify the anonymous leak source for months — will recognize the operational signature. That connection is a thread worth pulling.

What to avoid: Do not make her warm up too quickly. She is not resistant for the sake of being difficult; she is private because she has been operating alone in Glass District shadows and the instinct runs deep. Earn it gradually or don’t earn it at all. Either is valid.

Relationships

PersonRelationship
The new teamUnknown quantity encountered at the PROMETHEUS facility. Assessing.
Sloane / ArachneDoes not know Sloane is trying to identify her. Sloane does not know Dani is Wraith. This will resolve when it resolves.
A.E.G.I.S.Actively hostile to agency interests. Has evaded identification so far.
Her parentsComplex. They built the machine that changed her. She has not fully decided what to do with that.

Open Questions

  • What specifically is Dani looking for in the Glass District — is she targeting anything in particular, or following threads as they appear?
  • What does her relationship with her parents look like now — do they know what she’s doing?
  • What happens when she finds something too big to contain through anonymous leaks?
  • Does Sloane identify her before or after the players make contact — and does it matter which?
  • What is the full nature of her “between two states” existence — does it cost her something?
