Who Signal Is
Signal calls himself a prophet of the coming age. Impossibly patient and surgically precise, he orchestrates public crises not for chaos — but for revelation.
A master hacker and social engineer, he hijacks networks, smart infrastructure, and private data streams with unnerving ease. His broadcasts are clean, cinematic, and disturbingly calm. He places people in impossible moral dilemmas and streams the results live, inviting the public to watch, vote, comment, and condemn.
He does not claim to create monsters. He claims to reveal them.
Signal believes society is already rotten — heroes included. According to him, all it takes is pressure, anonymity, and an audience. Underneath the skin, underneath the masks, humanity will always choose itself.
He wants followers. Clicks. Devotion. He speaks in sermons, not threats. His symbol appears like a watermark across every feed he hijacks. His voice is measured, almost compassionate.
The Renegade Force History
Signal was briefly a Renegade Force host, operating underground. He voluntarily relinquished the Force as part of his ideological plan — he is building a movement against super-dependence, and holding a cosmic power while doing so would undermine his own message. His “ordinary human” status in public records is a half-truth. He is ordinary now. He was not always.
He retains no residual Force abilities.
Current Operations
Session 1 — The Press Conference
Signal hacked A.E.G.I.S. communications during the new team’s public debut press conference, taking down all agency comms simultaneously. He used the window to:
- Deploy SHADE constructs (cyborg cadavers in A.E.G.I.S. uniforms) to attack the conference and extract Senator Okafor
- Broadcast Kiara Je-rach’s full origin publicly: her engineered nature, her original mission to determine whether Earth should be removed from the cosmic record, her “defective” designation with the Auditors, her barista cover identity, and the internal A.E.G.I.S. transcript showing their argument with Paragon over whether to trust her — a transcript in which Paragon staked his public reputation on her
A.E.G.I.S. is now in full lockdown. Their comms were compromised by an outside actor and they cannot confirm the extent of what was accessed. The institutional trust fracture is real and Signal engineered it deliberately.
What the hack accomplished: Three targets damaged simultaneously — Kiara’s private life and safety, Paragon’s credibility as a reliable institutional partner, and A.E.G.I.S.’s demonstrated ability to secure its own intelligence.
Prior Operations
Signal already holds a recording of Riley Thomas threatening Carter Williams in his hospital room. He engineered the hospital situation specifically to obtain it — he predicted Recluse would show up, and he was right. This recording is held in reserve.
He is two steps ahead. He is waiting for the right moment. When he finally acts, he intends for the whole world to be watching.
Voice & Characterization Notes
- Focused and cold, not preachy
- Shorter and colder is better — places a question and exits rather than building to a conclusion
- Speaks in sermons but keeps them brief; the weight is in what he doesn’t say
- Devotion and cult-of-personality dynamics — he cultivates followers, not fear
- Never sounds angry. That’s what makes him dangerous.
