Steps
- Assign skill array: +3, +2, +2, +1, +1, +0 across 6 skills
- Choose a Bloodline (2 Knacks + 2 Sentences from bloodline + take Drawback)
- Write Origin (Background sentence + Culture sentence, each granting a Knack)
- Choose Path (4 Sentences from any Path + 4 Knacks)

Origins
Two sentences, each granting a Knack:
Background: I was a [PROFESSION/LIFESTYLE], which gives me a Knack in [KNACK].
Culture: I am from [HOMELAND/REGION], which gives me a Knack in [KNACK].
Example backgrounds: Soldier, Thief, Noble Scion, Physicker, Acolyte, Free Sailor, Streetborn, etc.
Example homelands: Dominescus, Rahnim, Myre, Argentumen, Occiventus, The Open Sea, The Frozen North, etc.
Paths
Choose any 4 Sentences and 4 Knacks from the paths below at creation. Gain more Sentences as Renown increases.

Advancement β Renown & Tiers
At end of each session, roll a pool of d10s and take the highest result as Renown earned.
Pool built from:
- d10s equal to Hunt Tier
- +1d10 if acted in accordance with Conclave reputation
- +1d10 if hunt matched Conclave type
- GM awards for exceptional play
Renown thresholds (per Tier): 10 / 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 β earn a new Sentence; Renown resets
Tier advancement (3 Sentences gained):
- Stable Pool +6
- One Skill bonus +1 (max +4)
- New Knack or existing Knack +1 (max +2)
Conclave Creation
After character creation, the group creates their Conclave (party).
Conclave Types:

| Coyotes | Infiltrators β burglaries, espionage, sabotage |
| Turtles | Defenders β fortification, siege resistance, VIP protection |
Also choose: Reputation (Ambitious / Brutal / Daring / Honorable / Professional / Savvy / Subtle / Strange)
Faction relationships (assign at creation):
- 1 Faction: Friendly (+2)
- 2 Factions: Helpful (+1)
- 2 Factions: Interfering (β1)
- 1 Faction: Hostile (β2)
- All others: Neutral (0)
Conclave Resources:
- Fortune (Tier 1β5: Poor β Noble) β collective wealth; roll Fortune-tier d10s for uncertain purchases
- Supplies β pooled gear; starts at 2 Γ number of hunters per hunt; spend 1 to declare a reasonable item
- Renown β fame and reputation; determines Tier advancement
